AREA/APODISSI

AREA is a knowledge and technology transfer company based in Udine, Italy, working alongside its sister company Apodissi, with offices in Lagos, Windhoek and Dubai. Together, we connect research, innovation, people and markets across Europe, sub-Saharan Africa and the Southern Mediterranean.

We work with universities, research organisations, public institutions, companies and innovators to turn knowledge and research results into practical solutions, new opportunities and impact. Our experience spans Horizon Europe and Erasmus+ projects, as well as international development cooperation assignments with partners including GIZ and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).

As consortium partners, we contribute expertise in communication, dissemination and exploitation; stakeholder engagement; research and evaluation; innovation and technology transfer; business development and market uptake; cascade-funding open calls; and vocational and digital skills development. We support projects from proposal development through implementation and exploitation, helping research and innovation reach policymakers, industry, communities and end users.

Our sector experience includes cybersecurity, robotics, clean energy, agri-food and agroecology, rural development, smart logistics, circular economy, and vocational and digital skills. Through Smart Step, our eLearning platform developed by Apodissi, we also deliver digital learning to more than 3,000 learners in over 60 countries.

Our combined European and African presence allows us to bring both international project expertise and first-hand knowledge of local ecosystems, stakeholders and markets. We are interested in joining collaborative projects where our expertise in communication, exploitation, innovation uptake, capacity building and EU–Africa cooperation can contribute to strong, sustainable impact.
