My Aloe Olea

My Aloé Oléa is an agroecological farm and Living Lab in Tunisia, providing a real-life environment for testing, demonstrating and validating innovative solutions for sustainable agriculture and climate adaptation.

Our approach combines farming, applied research, experimentation and entrepreneurship. Across our agricultural sites, we develop and test agroecological practices including crop association, organic production, reduced soil disturbance, soil cover, composting and efficient drip irrigation. Our main production model combines olive trees and Aloe vera, alongside other Mediterranean crops.

As a member of the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), My Aloé Oléa works with farmers, researchers, universities, public institutions, technology providers and other innovation actors to bridge the gap between research and practical implementation. Our Living Lab provides a Mediterranean, water-scarce context in which new agricultural practices, technologies and business models can be tested under real farming conditions.

We are also developing digital tools for farm management, traceability and data collection, linked to research on water use, carbon footprint, production costs and farm profitability. This allows us to explore how environmental and economic performance can be assessed together and translated into practical decision-making tools for farmers.

Our model integrates the entire agricultural value chain, from production and experimentation to processing and product development, while placing particular emphasis on women’s employment, skills development and participation in agricultural innovation.

My Aloé Oléa is interested in collaborating with Living Labs, research institutions, SMEs, startups and technology providers working on agroecology, water and soil management, climate adaptation, AgTech, traceability, circular processing and sustainable value chains. We are particularly interested in joint research and innovation projects, including European projects, and in acting as a real-life experimentation, demonstration and validation site for solutions adapted to Mediterranean agriculture.
