About

Inclusion Is Infrastructure: Making Urban Transitions Work Beyond Polarisation

Inclusive urban transition needs more than consultation: it requires a shared infrastructure for imagination, dialogue and decision-making. The Open Urbanism Foundation brings together research, open-source civic tech and on-the-ground mediation to help Living Labs involve people usually absent from planning processes. Led by Alain Renk, architect, urbanist and research practitioner, the Foundation develops methods that connect citizens’ qualitative contributions with municipal strategies, transparent data and collective learning. Drawing on the European research projects Multigination and CORESpaces, this poster shows how Agile Urban Living Labs (AULLs) can turn diverse perspectives into actionable knowledge, democratic trust and locally owned urban transitions.
