About

We have a broad expertise in research, education, innovation and knowledge transfer. Its researchers collaborate with public authorities, businesses, research organisations, civil society and local communities at regional, European and international level.

UdG offers multidisciplinary expertise addressing complex societal and environmental challenges, with particular strengths in:

sustainable development and ecological transition; climate change, biodiversity and resilient territories; sustainable food systems, healthy food and One Health; agriculture, food, health and environmental interconnections; circular economy and sustainable territorial development; Living Labs, co-creation and participatory innovation; place-based research covering urban, rural, coastal, agricultural and mountain environments.

The University has a strong territorial connection with Girona and its surrounding region, providing a diverse real-world environment for research, experimentation, demonstration and innovation.

Through its Chair of Healthy and Sustainable Food (CASS), UdG also promotes interdisciplinary research, education and knowledge transfer supporting the transition towards healthier and more sustainable food systems.

UdG is interested in European and international cooperation where its multidisciplinary research capacity, Living Lab approaches, territorial knowledge and stakeholder networks can contribute to innovative solutions with environmental and societal impact.
