Breaking Down Barriers to Seamless Energy Asset Integration

About
THE CHALLENGE
Distributed assets such as PV systems, batteries, EV chargers and energy-management systems use different interfaces and vendor-specific controls. Connecting them to utility, aggregation and market use cases is slow, costly and difficult to scale. EVN seeks an interoperable approach that can translate, prioritize and securely execute control signals across diverse assets.
SOLUTION DIRECTION SOUGHT
SMEs with capabilities in edge gateways, protocol translation, device discovery, secure IoT, API orchestration, command prioritization, digital twins or low-code device onboarding. We welcome modular software, hardware-light concepts and pilot-ready integration approaches.
SOLUTION BOUNDARIES
Must integrate with existing devices and common protocols; support secure remote operation, auditability and data minimization; remain robust if connectivity is interrupted; avoid dependency on one hardware or cloud vendor; and be suitable for a limited pilot before wider rollout.
WHAT WE OFFER
Domain experts, representative asset and interface requirements, (if deemed necessary) a controlled test environment, support in defining the pilot, and access to decision-makers for evaluating a commercial or co-development next step.
