Battery system validation & certification testing in harsh climate conditions

Pieter Jan Jordaens

Operating Officer at OWI-Lab

Antwerp, Belgium

About

Our climatic test lab housing one of Europe's largest climatic test chambers is focussing on the (extreme) climatic validation & certification testing of containerized battery energy storage systems, and energy systems in general that need to operate in harsh environments worldwide.

These testing conditions can range from -60°C to +60°C and temperature cycles, high humidity (95%RH), infrared solar heat load, icing conditions, dry heat to check cold start-up conditions or cooling performance during hot summer events.
