About me
Bruce holds a Doctorate in Computational Fluid Dynamics from the University of Nottingham, along with Master's and Bachelor’s degrees in engineering, both achieved with distinction.
He began his career as an engineering consultant with a focus on using fluid, structural and thermal simulation to provide insights supporting safety, performance improvement and regulatory compliance in the offshore oil & gas industry.
In 2013 he took up a research fellowship at the Rolls-Royce UTC in gas turbine transmissions at the University of Nottingham. His applied research work helped leading aerospace OEMs advance simulation capabilities for predicting the complex multiscale and mixed regime flows that occur in critical gas turbine transmission components such as bearing chambers, seals and power gearboxes.
Since rejoining industry as an engineering consultant, Bruce has continued to operate in various roles demonstrating his industrial technical leadership in multiphysics simulation problems—such as fluid-structure interaction, conjugate heat transfer & phase change, multiphase flow and vibration fatigue. He has led the successful exploitation of these simulation technologies to deliver value to customers across aerospace, power generation and process sectors, while also managing large multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovation.
