Soluna Energia Energy-as-a-Service

Daniel Vallejo

CEO at Soluna Energia

About

Soluna provides solar Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) to rural households and small businesses in Colombia's off-grid and weak-grid areas. The company installs, owns, monitors, and maintains individual solar photovoltaic systems permanently, while customers pay an affordable upfront fee (20-30%) plus recurring biweekly or monthly payments — eliminating the capital barrier to clean energy access.

Our service includes the full solar system (panels, batteries, inverter, smart meter, and wiring), professional installation by local field teams, 24/7 remote monitoring through our proprietary Colibrí app, preventive and corrective maintenance with a response SLA under 3 days, and a dedicated customer service center for recharges and support.

We offer a scalable product portfolio designed for different energy needs: from basic residential systems (lighting, phone charging) to productive-use systems that power refrigeration, tools, and commercial equipment — enabling rural businesses to extend operating hours and increase income.

The PayGo smart metering system ensures accessible payments with automatic service management, while the upfront fee incentivizes customer care of the equipment. Soluna operates as a mini-utility in every community we serve: we don't just sell hardware, we deliver an ongoing energy service with the reliability and accountability of a utility provider, tailored for the last mile.
