Advisory On Biomass Gasification/Pyrolysis, Biochar & Enhanced Weathering

About

What we offer: Co-REGEN advises businesses on remediating high carbon crop and processing residues (prunings, nut shells, bagasse etc) that is currently not used to its maximum potential. We select gasification/pyrolysis - low/no oxygen thermal conversion - technologies to produce syngas, energy (heat, electricity) and biochar.

The business is the anchor tenant for the energy and may also apply the biochar, a stable form of carbon that is an excellent conditioner particularly for Africa's depleted soils, back onto its own fields or sell it to its ougrowers. Biochar creates micro-pores to enable water to infiltrate; improves fertiliser efficiency and therefore reduces nitrogen emissions; increases yields. It also removes CO2. If clients replace incineration with gasification, they will be reducing CO2 emissions, too.

We use data and digital tools to forecast and monitor crops, residues, soil health, weather, transport routes, and the cheapest source of energy (in a mixed environment).

We advise on enhanced weathering for food security and greenhouse gas removal and reduction.

What we are looking for: (i) supply chain operators who can guarantee year-round aggregation, transporting and storage of residues of the correct quality and price point; (ii) C&I financiers, EPC and operators who are interested in offering captive biomass gasification+CHP plants on a PPA/BOOT/SPV model; (iii) gasification/pyrolysis technology providers.
