Session 2 Panel: EMODnet for the European Ocean Pact

This Panel will discuss EMODnet’s central marine knowledge pillar for EU ocean-related Policy under the European Ocean Pact, from the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) to the Maritime Spatial Planning Directive (MSPD). It will bring together National practitioners and European agencies to explain how EMODnet’s added value marine data assets are already used to support policy implementation, and will look to the future to assess how EMODnet can further support EU Policy into the future, including the EU Member State obligations to the Nature Restoration Law and global treaties including Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ), and how the Ocean Pact may support these developments.
