About

Conducting research for a changing society: This is the mission of more than 7,500 employees from 110 countries working hand in hand at Forschungszentrum Jülich, including 1,450 visiting scientists from more than 70 countries. We want our research to have an impact. That’s why we conduct interdisciplinary research into the fundamentals, technologies, and systems of a digitized society, a climate-friendly energy system, and a sustainable economy. Our research in the areas of natural, life, and engineering sciences is focused on the fields of information, energy, and the bioeconomy, which is combined with our specialist expertise in high-performance computing and artificial intelligence. At the same time, we operate and utilize unique scientific infrastructures, making them available to external users. We are one of the largest interdisciplinary research institutions in Europe and contribute to solving the grand societal challenges of our time as a member of the Helmholtz Association.
