HD Hyundai Group, formerly known as Hyundai Heavy Industries, is the operator of the world’s largest shipyard and a global leader in maritime innovation. We have a proud history of pioneering advancements, such as the world’s first ocean-crossing LNG dual-fuel vessel and the first large methanol dual-fuel container ship. These milestones underscore our deep commitment to the environmental sustainability of shipping.

 In response to the urgent need for decarbonization and the adoption of green technologies in the maritime industry, HD Hyundai has proactively focused on the electrification of ship propulsion, the development of technology related to alternative fuels, and the expansion of fuel cell technology. To further these goals, we established the HD Hyundai Europe R&D Center in Germany as a GmbH, enabling us to collaborate closely with European institutions and entities through open innovation projects.
