About me
Graduating from University of Orléans with a PhD in Applied Geology in 1989, Albert Genter was working on the Soultz-sous-Forêts pioneered geothermal project about natural fractures and hydrothermal alteration. After his PhD, he was employed by BRGM, working on EGS (Enhanced Geothermal System), on nuclear waste disposal in granite and on coastal erosion. At BRGM, he was successively a junior geologist and R&D project manager, then geo-energy unit manager and finally deputy manager of the geothermal division. In 2007, he joined the European EGS Soultz project in Alsace as a scientific manager. He was responsible for a geoscientific program for monitoring the first geothermal plant producing electricity from EGS in France. From 2014 to now, he joined geothermal industry at Électricité de Strasbourg Géothermie (ÉS-G), as deputy general manager where he conducted industrial project development for his mother company ÉS as well as R&D projects on fractured geothermal reservoirs including geothermal lithium. He was for example, the main coordinator of the European Horizon 2020, MEET project from 2018 to 2022. From April 2025, he is the chairman of a consulting company in EGS calls Genter Geothermal located in France.
