About me

Virginie Hamm is a senior hydrogeologist graduated from ENSG (Superior National School of Geology, Nancy, France, 2001) and holds a master degree in fluid mechanical. She joined BRGM in 2003 by working in the research group on the impact and safety of underground structures and post-mining issues (GISOS). Since 2010, she has joined the geothermal energy department from BRGM (now Direction of Energy and Decarbonation) as project manager and expert in deep geothermal projects. Her research and expertise are on the characterization of the geothermal potential of deep sedimentary aquifers, on hydrothermal reservoir modelling, on technical expertise of deep geothermal operations and on the geothermal valorisation of former hydrocarbon wells or flooded mines.
