About me
After studying business administration, strategic management and financial management, Sander joined the energy department of the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2000 where he worked in policy making for the oil and gas sector, the governance of the Dutch Gas Building and unbundling the Dutch integrated energy companies. He joined Fortis Global Energy Group in 2005, where he worked in Milan to finance conventional and sustainable energy projects and companies in Italy and Switzerland. In 2009, he joined EBN, where he worked as expert in the governance in de Dutch Gas Building, the Groningen tremors as business advisor, detachee to the Ministery of Economic Affairs, member of the management team, team lead and principal business & commerce, mainly to set up the geo energy department and advising on ways to accelerate the broader heat transition in public private parnter coalitions. Next to his work at EBN, Sander works as a Senior Research Fellow at the TU Delft, writing a PhD under the working title of 'Exploring the investors' perspective of Business Case Analysis; and its use to design State aid for investments in renewable energy in the European Union.'
Sander enjoys to delve into the intricacies of investing in geothermal and other energy projects and the road the heat transition is heading. He is convinced of the crucial importance of a proficient interplay between public and private parties in driving the transition forward as they form two sides of the same coin to invest. He will share his belief that the more they help each other to get in shape, the better they find each other and play for the huge task ahead.
