Miguel Hermanns

I'm Professor in fluid mechanics and heat transfer at the School of Aerospace Engineering of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain). Most of my research focuses on the theoretical modelling of industry-relevant engineering problems and to their subsequent numerical solution. In 2011 I started a collaboration with a large Spanish corporation for the harnessing of shallow geothermal energy. The result is a fruitful private-public partnership in which methodologies and tools from the field of aerospace engineering are successfully applied to a completely different sector and topic.
