About me
Janine Campling is the Founder of Green United Development (GUD), an organisation advancing equitable carbon markets, sustainable development, and community-led innovation. With over two decades of experience across the NGO and finance sectors, Janine has led pioneering work at the intersection of climate resilience, digital infrastructure, and grassroots empowerment.
She has worked on sustainable development programmes since 2003 and represents GUD on the Steering Committee of the Great Green Wall and at the African Union Private Sector Forum for the Great Green Wall. Her contributions help shape policy, governance, and private sector engagement across the Sahel.
Alongside her development work, Janine has over 18 years of experience in the financial sector, having worked with Generation Investment Management, Deutsche Asset & Private Wealth Management, and Barclays Capital. She has played a key role in global initiatives such as the mobilisation of the Net Zero Asset Managers Initiative, working alongside Al Gore and David Blood.
A recognised expert in carbon markets, Janine advises organisations and institutions globally on the design of high-integrity, community-centred carbon programmes. She led the development of ODIN (Operational Data & Impact Network), a groundbreaking digital MRV and environmental project management platform that strengthens transparency and effectiveness across carbon projects.
Janine holds an MBA from Arden University and a degree in Advanced Business Computing from Damelin College. In 2024, she was named one of WRW’s Top 25 Global Women of Influence.
