Marine power and energy systems

Increasing the navy's energy self sufficiency requires new discoveries and developments of Power Propulsion and Energy systems. The innovative systems will be located in the bunker and machinery spaces of future ships. The new systems should be stable under all conditions, even with large fluctuations in power demand. This is especially challenging when applying electrification of the propulsion and sensor or weapon systems on a large scale. MARIN provides services for specification, concept design and testing of those new systems. For this we have a fully equipped Zero Emission Laboratory and a digital twin for performing fully integrated system simulations.
