N10gled is a Portuguese startup founded by three individuals and one company, each bringing years of experience in the space and quantum technology sectors. The company is developing an end-to-end Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) infrastructure to offer Quantum Keys as a Service (QKaS). This includes a transportable ground segment—TAQS—and a satellite payload—HEKATE—designed to establish quantum-secure keys over long distances using the fundamental laws of physics. The ground segment is being developed with support from the European Space Agency and the Portuguese Space Agency, while the space segment has begun development with support from the Portuguese Innovation Agency. N10gled is also a key partner in a European Defence Fund project focused on future quantum-secure communication systems. The company is headquartered in Évora, where it operates its main office and optical laboratory.
