Alexandru Cosoi

As Bitdefender's Chief Security Strategist, Alexandru Catalin Cosoi plays a multifaceted role—from promoting the company's technological innovation as part of the CTO Office to overseeing a cyber-intelligence team that contributes to global efforts in combating cybercrime. He also serves on the Internet Security Advisory Group at Europol and acts as Bitdefender's liaison to international cybersecurity organizations, maintaining close collaboration with over 60 national CERTs around the world. Alexandru's expertise lies in pattern extraction and recognition, with a strong focus on neural networks and machine learning. His work has resulted in six granted patents and several core classification technologies now embedded in Bitdefender products. He holds a bachelor's degree in bioengineering and machine learning and a PhD in natural language processing. Over the past decade, Alexandru has shared his insights at numerous international conferences and workshops, where he analyzes threat actor behavior, explores evolving attack techniques, and provides hands-on training in the use of advanced cybersecurity technologies.
