The state-owned forest management company manages and maintains more than 1 million ha of Lithuanian state forest. The main goal is to sustainably conduct comprehensive economic activities in state forests, including afforestation, restoration, maintenance, protection, rational use of forest resources, and the trade of timber and forest resources, without compromising the implementation of nature management measures in forests. To carry out the general maintenance and repair of forest roads in forests of all ownership forms, to adopt advanced technologies for afforestation, restoration, protection, management, and the use of forest resources, and to perform forest tree breeding and develop the forest seed base.
