Atelier la filière

Atelier la filière is, first and foremost, a sustainable, natural wool, rooted in its local area, and with a low environmental impact. This fiber primarily promotes the wool of local farmers, considering their wool as a noble material.

Each animal produces a very specific wool with its own characteristics.

Its wool evolves according to the weather, its diet, its parentage, farming conditions, etc. Each spring, the wool is selected from around ten sheep farmers and hand-sorted for its final destination!

The wool is then sent to a washing, carding, or spinning unit in France. It ends its journey in Caligny where it is naturally dyed with plants.

The raw wool from the farmers is purchased at a fair price. By obtaining better compensation and having a better sense of their social role, the farmer regains meaning in their efforts in sheep selection, livestock management, and the careful harvesting process.

Finally, it is offered in the form of balls, carded tablecloths, felt, or products knitted by professional knitters in Lower Normandy. From the fleece to the finished product, the wool is chemically untreated.
