Patrícia Cardoso Saldanha

I am Patrícia Saldanha, founder of Orbio, a digital marketplace that connects the buying and selling of waste for the circular economy and the trading of carbon credits for GHG emission compensation.

With over 18 years of experience in sustainability and ESG, I have worked on the development and implementation of reverse logistics policies and the integration of waste into the circular economy. I have designed and coordinated strategies for regulatory compliance and improved environmental performance, conducted sustainability audits and maintained international certifications (ISCC), contributed to the creation of ESG norms and guidelines as a member of the ABNT/CEE-256 Special Study Commission on Environmental, Social and Governance, and implemented ISO 14001 environmental management systems along with reports aligned to international standards (IFC and GRI).

I hold an MSc in Environmental Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology, and I am a Lead Auditor for ISO 14001, Lead Auditor for ESG (ABNT PR 2030), and ISCC certified.

My main focus today is to accelerate the transition to a truly circular and low-carbon economy by transparently and scalably connecting waste generators, recyclers, industries, and carbon credit buyers between Brazil and Europe.

Through Orbio, I want to turn waste into valuable resources and emissions into compensation opportunities, creating real value for everyone involved.
