About me
I am Franck Da Silva, an engaged entrepreneur and pioneer of the circular economy in Réunion, where I have developed major projects for over ten years. Aged 50 and based in La Possession, I embody an innovative and territorial approach to sustainable development.
I am the co-founder and President of EcoPAL (2015), which I launched as a revolutionary collaborative initiative for valorizing wooden pallets in Réunion. Facing the challenge of 20,000 tons of unused pallets annually on the island, EcoPAL brings together associations and companies around a circular economy, creating jobs and opportunities while preserving the environment.
I also co-founded Synergie Péi, where I lead La Halle du Réemploi, an employment-focused enterprise (EBE) in the Port area that serves as the operational heart of my approach. There, I develop the “matériauthèque,” an innovative industrial ecology project for material reuse.
My Territorial Approach and Partnerships
I collaborate closely with institutional players—the region, ADEME, DEAL—to integrate my projects into territorial development strategies. My vision goes beyond simple valorization: it aims to create a sustainable local sector, generate jobs, and revitalize territories.
My Engagement and Recognition
I was a candidate for the 2017 ESS Prize Heartthrob Award, and my approach has garnered support from numerous local stakeholders. As a recognized member of the Shamengo platform (network of changemakers), I embody the Circular Activist and committed entrepreneur, driven by creating “new opportunities together.”
