The marine biotechnology group within the Marine Biology Station Piran (National Institute of Biology) is the pioneer group for implementing marine biotechnology in the region. A team of motivated individuals with international experience and expertise.

About me

A microbiologist with a PhD in statistics. My research includes marine biotechnology, waste valorization, but also science policy, blue bioeconomy, social LCA. I am the director of Ocean4Biotech, the professional association of marine biotechnologists, the working group leader of MaSBBE (Marine Sustainable Blue BioEconomy) community of practice, endorsed by DG Regio, member of other networks and developer of real-world value chains from marine organisms and biomass.
