About me
Carmen Jaca is a Full Professor at Tecnun, School of Engineering at the University of Navarra, where she earned her degree in Industrial Engineering and completed her PhD in 2011. Her main research focus is Circular Economy, particularly supporting SMEs in their transition toward more sustainable business models. She has led and participated in numerous national and international projects, including Horizon 2020 initiatives.
Carmen coordinates Tecnun’s Sustainability Strategy, integrating cross-cutting initiatives across the campus. She also promotes student engagement through academic awards, sustainability clubs, and collaborative projects with industry. Her teaching includes courses on Sustainable Engineering and Strategic Management, and she actively involves companies in real-world sustainability challenges.
She has co-authored two practical guides for SMEs on Circular Economy and published over 50 peer-reviewed articles. Carmen is also co-founder of IAQUIS, an academic network fostering collaboration between researchers, students, and companies in sustainability. Her work bridges academic excellence and societal impact, making her a valuable contributor to European innovation ecosystems.
