About me

Dr Alicja Dzieciol (PhD Chemistry) is SilviBio’s Co-founder and CEO. She founded SilviBio out of a desire to make a meaningful impact towards transitioning towards a more fair, equitable and sustainable future in the face of the ongoing climate crisis.
This means addressing the acute need for better professional grade peat-free growing substrates in the face of peat bans and restrictions in the UK and several EU countries. Alongside her multidisciplinary team of 5, SilviBio provide patent-pending peat-free substrates for edible, ornamental and tree crops with reduced environmental impact and enhanced performance. They are seeking investment to upscale production.
Thanks to her leadership, SilviBio has won several awards, including the Scottish EDGE Net Zero prize at COP26 and Famigro Rural Entrepreneurship Award.
