Digital Twins for Circular Cities and Regions
About
We want to support cities and regions in using digital twin technology to accelerate their transition to a circular economy. In partnership with ARETIAN, the project combines advanced spatial modelling with circular economy analysis to help places better understand, plan, and test circular strategies before implementing them in the real world.
Cities face complex decisions about land use, infrastructure, logistics, housing, industry, and resource flows. At the same time, circular economy goals require rethinking how materials, energy, water, food, and goods move through urban and regional systems. We want to connect these challenges by creating interactive digital replicas of urban and regional systems that integrate spatial data, material flows, infrastructure networks, and socio-economic dynamics.
We are currently looking for cities and regions interested in piloting this approach with us, helping shape how digital twins can serve circular economy transitions in real planning and policy contexts.
