Circular Jobs Initiative
About
The Circular Jobs Initiative delivers data-driven insights on who works in the circular economy and what is needed to unlock its potential while minimising trade-offs and maximising social benefits. Using tools such as the Circular Jobs Methodology, the initiative supports evidence-based decision-making across countries, cities, and value chains.
We do this by: 1) Defining and measuring circular jobs: quantifying circular jobs for governments and industry to support circular economy initiatives and mapping the key skills required to drive the transition across value chains, countries, and cities; 2) Analysing socioeconomic impacts: assessing employment, social, and gender implications of circular economy transitions at city, national, and value-chain levels through established frameworks and partnerships; and 3) Strengthening national and local capacity: translating insights into practical guidance, hands-on training, and e-learning to enable reskilling and upskilling for a circular economy across TVETs, SMEs, organisations, institutions, and government agencies.
