TRL 8 Waste-to-Value Solution for PPE & Food Waste – Seeking ECIV Regional Partner
About
HaPPE Earth is an Irish SME offering a TRL 8, near-market circular waste-to-value system that safely transforms single-use PPE waste and food waste into valuable secondary resources. The solution has been technically validated and piloted in Ireland with University College Cork (UCC) and is now ready for interregional replication and deployment under the ECIV Call 1.
We are seeking one ECIV-funded regional partner (municipality, healthcare network, waste authority, or waste management operator) to host a second regional pilot and act as the funded replication site within an ECIV consortium.
What HaPPE Earth offers:
-
A proven TRL 8 circular technology addressing two critical waste streams: contaminated PPE and organic food waste
-
Reduced reliance on landfill and incineration
-
A scalable and transferable model for healthcare and municipal waste systems
-
Strong alignment with EU Circular Economy and Green Deal objectives
-
Existing academic validation support through UCC (Ireland)
What the ECIV partner region gains:
-
Access to a low-risk, ready-to-deploy solution
-
ECIV-supported funding for regional pilot implementation
-
First-mover advantage in circular healthcare and bio-waste valorisation
-
Opportunity to become a reference region for EU-wide replication
-
Direct contribution to regional climate, waste, and circularity targets
Project focus:
-
Waste-to-value
-
Circular healthcare solutions
-
Bio-waste valorisation
-
TRL 8 demonstration and market replication
We are currently selecting one European region to act as the funded ECIV deployment site, alongside our Irish pilot base. Regions with active circular economy programmes, healthcare sustainability goals, or innovative waste management strategies are especially encouraged to connect.
We welcome expressions of interest from:
-
Municipal or regional authorities
-
Hospital groups or healthcare networks
-
Public or private waste management operators
-
Regional circular economy agencies
Together, we can demonstrate how high-risk and high-volume waste streams can be transformed into valuable circular resources at European scale.
