Who we are
CLM Trans S.R.L. is a Romanian international transport and logistics operator based in Galați. It specializes in bulk liquid transport for the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Liviu Cioromila founded the company in 2008 with a single truck, which he drove himself. His first-hand experience as a subcontracted haulier for an international bulk food-liquids carrier shaped how the company works today. Over more than 17 years, CLM Trans has grown from traction services into full transport with its own tankers. It now moves about 500,000 tonnes a year and is known as a trusted Romanian operator on Western European markets.

Four business divisions

• Food-grade tanker transport, about 90% of activity

• Non-food tanker transport for chemical and technical products, non-ADR

• Curtainsider transport for palletized general freight

• Temperature-controlled transport, mainly for the pharmaceutical industry

Fleet and equipment
We operate a preventively maintained Euro 6 fleet of more than 220 vehicles. It includes Mercedes, DAF and MAN tractor units, food-grade tankers, tank containers for chemicals, and curtainsider trailers. The founder configured the tankers himself, drawing on thousands of trips, so they can carry over 90% of the bulk liquid food products on the European market. Tankers are ATP/PED certified and come with transfer pumps, 12 m hoses, CIP cleaning systems, temperature sensors and integrated heating. The heating lets us carry high-viscosity products such as liquid chocolate, palm oil and vegetable fats. We also transport dairy products, liquid sugar and its derivatives, vegetable oils, liquid egg, juices, wine and brewer's yeast.

Quality and technology
CLM Trans is ISO 22000 and GMP+ certified. Hygiene and decontamination procedures are standardized and fully traceable, and sensitive loads are held within ±0.5°C. Our ERP system handles trip planning, vehicle allocation, route optimization, P&L reporting and cost control. WebEye and FleetBoard provide telematics, fuel monitoring and predictive maintenance. We are also rolling out robotic process automation (RPA) to take over repetitive back-office tasks. Our main routes cover Benelux, Germany, France, Italy, Romania, Greece and the Balkans.

Key investment: truck service center and logistics hub, Galați
We are building a fully equipped truck service center (mechanical repair, bodywork and paint) and a logistics and storage hub near the Galați Free Zone. The project is worth about RON 63 million, including RON 39.6 million in non-reimbursable funding from the Just Transition Program. It runs until 2027 and will create 71 new jobs, keeping or creating 227 jobs in total. It also includes photovoltaic panels, EV charging stations, heat pumps and waste reduction measures.

Looking ahead
We plan to grow the tanker and non-ADR fleet by 25–30% and to add 10 fully electric trucks. We will also launch a client portal with 24/7 tracking and KPI reports and fully digitalize internal processes by 2028. Each year, 5% of profit will go into staff training. We are also creating a dedicated school for drivers and technicians in partnership with educational institutions and industry.
