My organisation

Materials Center Leoben (MCL) is an R&D institution specializing on innovative applications of metallic and ceramic materials and composites, as well as on innovative manufacturing processes. In addition to leading-edge research and development projects with international partners, MCL also offers extensive services in materials characterization and testing in its accredited  laboratory, as well as simulation services ranging from design calculations to multi-scale, multi-physics simulations. MCL gratefully acknowledges the financial support under the scope of the COMET program within the K2 Center “Integrated Computational Material, Process and Product Engineering (IC-MPPE)” (Project 886385). About me

Elke Kraker studied physics at the University of Graz where she obtained her master’s degree in 2004. Afterward, she started her PhD. studies at the University of Graz focusing on opto-chemical sensors combined with organic electronics and received her PhD in 2008. In 2012 she joined the business unit “Materials for Microelectronics” of the Materials Center Leoben Forschung GmbH and works there as leader of the “Reliability and Analytics for 3D Integration & Packaging” group. Her main focus lies in the development of tests and methods for material characterization in the field of microelectronics and the development and evaluation of reliability tests. Since 2020 she is leading the Department “Materials for Microelectronics” at the Materials Center Leoben.
