Semiconductor-industry veteran turned e-mobility innovator, currently serving as Business Innovation Manager at go-e GmbH in Feldkirchen, Carinthia — one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of home and public EV charging solutions. In this role, leading two of Austria’s largest cross-sector research consortia shaping the country’s renewable e-mobility future.
Semiconductor Industry Track Record
Holding an MSc in Chemical Engineering and Electronic Materials Science from the University of Twente (NL) and built more than 30 years of R&D and engineering-leadership experience across the semiconductor and high-tech industry. After internships at Siemens and Philips Central Laboratories, becoming process R&D engineer at imec in Leuven, followed by engineering roles at CVC Products and Etec Systems (later acquired by Applied Materials), where our lithography work produced several patents on wafer processing. Dedicating almost 12 years as Head of Engineering / VP at Oerlikon in Balzers, Liechtenstein — earning further patents on magnetron sputtering — before leading the Spin Clean Division engineering team as VP Engineering at Lam Research in Villach.
High-Tech Startup Experience
In 2014, founded P.SYS system creation in Villach, applying his systems-engineering background to modular hardware and software solutions. In 2019, co-founded P.SYS Caring Systems, developing an AI-based "Bettmonitor" bed-monitoring system for elderly safety and independent living — a recognised Carinthian Active Assisted Living venture.
Current Position and Flagship Successes
Since October 2023, driving business innovation at go-e, coordinating collaboration between government, industry and science on next-generation e-mobility solutions. Consortium Lead of "Shared Charging", a €6.4 million flagship project funded by Austria’s Climate and Energy Fund under the FFG’s "Zero Emission Mobility plus" programme, running 2025–2028 with 12 partners including Infineon, Kelag, Silicon Austria Labs and Universität Klagenfurt. The project is building a renewable-powered ecosystem for shared, cost-efficient EV charging in public and semi-public spaces, anchored by a digital-twin model of the Carinthia region and a pilot site at Kelag Energie & Wärme in Villach.
Building on that momentum, now spearheading "source2car" (s2c), an ambitious €11,2 million new initiative awarded under Austria’s FTI "Transformation der Industrie" programme, uniting a 23-partner international consortium — including Infineon, Silicon Austria Labs, AIT, MUL, TU Graz, Battery4Life, BOKU, Flowgen, cities in Austria and Germany, and many others. Source2car pursues an integrated systems approach that directly couples local renewable generation — solar (Sun2Car), river-current (Stream2Car) and wind (Air2Car) — with BEV charging through modular, standardized energy cells, aiming to cut the carbon footprint of EV charging while easing pressure on distribution grids across Austria.
Together, Shared Charging and source2car mark the latest chapter: applying three decades of high-tech systems engineering and entrepreneurial experience to lead two of Austria’s largest cross-sector consortia shaping the country’s renewable e-mobility future.
