Strategic lead in renewable energy capacity building. Having consulted for IRENA and 30+ universities, I design scalable systems that address the talent bottleneck. Focused on developing the leaders required to power Africa's energy transition. Let's talk

My organisation

At Transforming Energy Access - Learning Partnership, we are committed to enhancing energy access in underserved communities through capacity building, knowledge sharing and collaborative initiatives. Our team brings together a diverse network of stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and academic experts, to develop innovative solutions that drive sustainable energy practices. By fostering partnerships and sharing best practices, we aim to empower local communities around Africa, South Asia, and the Pacific Islands and promote equitable access to clean energy resources. Together, we believe in creating a brighter, sustainable future for all.

About me

I am a Mechanical Engineer (BSc) and Engineering Management specialist (MPhil) dedicated to solving the human capital challenges within the African energy transition. My work focuses on the intersection of technical engineering concepts and scalable capacity building.

With over five years of experience in the renewable energy sector, I have:

  • Consulted for the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and developed an eLearning solution that dealt with policy and regulatory frameworks for renewables-based mini-grids.

  • Worked with 30+ universities across Africa, South Asia, and the Pacific Islands to support their delivery of renewable energy-based Masters' curricula.

  • Led the development and delivery of multiple accredited Continuing Professional Development courses across Africa, covering future-proofed engineering concepts for the energy transition, management, and leadership.

  • Developed scalable curricula and learning solutions for global institutions, tailored to specific regional needs and sustainability goals

  • Bridged the gap between academic output and industry requirements to ensure a job-ready workforce.

In the DRE sector, technical, workplace-ready talent is often the primary bottleneck to scaling investment. I specialise in building the talent pipelines that de-risk projects and ensure long-term operational sustainability.

At EAIF 2026, I am facilitating the TEA-LP workshop, "Wired for the Future: Building Renewable Energy & the Talent Pipeline," and I would love to connect with developers, investors, and policy-makers interested in human capital as a strategic asset.

When I’m not focused on energy access, you’ll likely find me on the trails. I am the founder of the Hout Bay Trail Leopards running club in Cape Town and am passionate about exploring the intersection of nature, mindfulness, and adventure.
