Placenet is a Spanish technology SME developing Internet of Places (IoP), a new digital infrastructure that connects people, services, organisations and physical environments according to location, identity, role and real-time context.
Our technology creates a contextual digital layer for physical places, allowing cities, organisations and communities to provide relevant information, services, communication and interaction to people based on where they are and their specific context.
In urban environments, Placenet can connect citizens with local commerce, public services, facilities, community initiatives, activities and other neighbourhood resources through a unified digital experience linked to the physical territory.
For the DUT Call 2026 – 15-minute City Topic #3, we are exploring how this technology can support stronger and more resilient neighbourhood economies by improving the visibility, accessibility and use of local services and by connecting public, private and community stakeholders.
We are also interested in developing new Neighbourhood Intelligence capabilities to identify gaps between local demand and supply, detect underused resources and spaces, connect complementary actors and support evidence-based interventions at neighbourhood level.
Placenet can contribute technology, AI, contextual services, location-based interaction, digital communities, data and real-world urban experimentation.
We are looking to collaborate with European cities and municipalities, universities and research organisations, local commerce and business organisations, community organisations and complementary technology partners interested in developing and testing new models for connected, accessible and resilient 15-minute neighbourhoods.
