DUT Call 2026 | Territorial Sequencing for Equitable Urban Energy Transition
I am an independent urban climate transition and energy systems practitioner bringing a developed, applied territorial sequencing methodology to DUT 2026. The methodology can be readily applied and tested in European cities to identify and prioritise where, for whom and how urban energy-transition interventions should be delivered.
The approach connects socioeconomic vulnerability, affordability and potentially suppressed energy demand, building performance, infrastructure conditions and intervention suitability to move from static urban diagnosis toward actionable intervention sequencing.
I am particularly interested in developing the methodology through the Adaptive Reuse of Existing Urban Structures and Spaces topic under the Positive Energy Districts pathway. It can provide an analytical and decision-support layer for projects connecting adaptive reuse, energy transition, affordability, social inclusion, urban regeneration, governance, financing and measurable implementation.
I am seeking municipalities and local authorities, research institutions, urban-planning organisations, building and energy specialists, housing and energy-poverty partners, and monitoring/MRV partners interested in applying, testing, validating and scaling the methodology across contrasting European urban contexts.
The methodology was developed through work on Madrid's urban data and clean-heat transition context and is designed as a modular framework that can integrate with complementary technical, research and implementation workstreams. Potential applications include neighbourhood prioritisation, building and infrastructure matching, equitable intervention sequencing, implementation roadmaps and MRV.
My professional background as a licensed architect and construction manager, combined with work across energy systems, urban climate policy and technical advisory, brings an implementation perspective to the methodology: connecting territorial evidence with the practical realities of design, procurement, construction, building performance, cost, governance and delivery.
I am open to contributing as an independent participant and to developing an appropriate consortium role with partners as the project takes shape.
