IESEG School of Management

IÉSEG School of Management is a French Grande École with campuses in Lille and Paris-La Défense, holding the EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA international accreditations. Its research activities are closely integrated with LEM – Lille Économie Management (UMR CNRS 9221), a joint research unit of the French National Centre for Scientific Research.

IÉSEG conducts internationally oriented research across management, economics and the social sciences, with strong expertise in sustainability, environmental management, circular economy, territorial and regional development, innovation, governance, organisational transformation and responsible business. Researchers combine quantitative, spatial and qualitative approaches and are actively involved in European and international collaborative research projects.

In the field of urban transitions, IÉSEG contributes expertise on the territorial dimensions of the circular economy, circular business ecosystems, economic geography, place-based and urban governance, intermediation, regional transformation, sustainable production and the socioeconomic implications of environmental transitions. This research examines how firms, public authorities, intermediaries and other territorial actors interact to enable more circular, resilient and inclusive development pathways.

IÉSEG has strong experience in interdisciplinary and stakeholder-oriented research and collaborates with public authorities, companies, associations and other academic institutions in France and internationally. Its location in the Lille metropolitan area also provides a strong territorial setting for research on post-industrial transformation, circular economy, productive activities and sustainable urban development.

IÉSEG’s mission is to “empower changemakers for a better society”, and the School places research excellence and engagement with socioeconomic actors at the core of its strategy.
