Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality welcomes partnerships for resilient, sustainable and smart city initiatives

Balıkesir is located in a region rich in renewable energy resources. It is one of the rare provinces in Türkiye where wind, solar, geothermal, and biomass energy sources coexist. This diversity provides a significant advantage in terms of energy supply security. Therefore, efforts are being made to integrate these energy sources into the city to build a sustainable and environmentally friendly urban environment.

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, within the scope of DUT Call, aims to participate in consortia for eligible project topics under the cross-cutting topic, CUE Topic and PED Topic.

By participating in DUT projects, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality aims to develop joint solutions through collaborations and implement activities that support resilient and smart city iniatives. As a metropolitan municipality, we are eager to serve as a pilot project site for these initiatives and to develop innovative solutions.
