Contributing PED project: Involve the citizens

About
In the Positive Energy Districts (PED) environment, the citizens living in the PED districts and neighbourhoods are the final end-users of energy consumption. According to White Paper on Reference Framework for Positive Energy Districts and Neighborhoods, the development of PED will heavily rely on the active involvement of citizens. It is thus valuable to investigate how citizens can impact and contribute to a PED. We are the research team from Intelligent Human-Buildings Interactions (IHBI) lab, Umeå University. And the IHBI lab aims to explore the interaction among built environments and people using lab experiments, especially focusing on research of energy-efficient building renovation and positive energy district (PED) and their sociotechnical impacts.
The IHBI lab has a well-established infrastructure, including Immersive Built Environments, Database-Driven Modelling, and Intelligent Indoor Environments. The lab enables us to unlock the boundaries of the physical lab, and experiment with a large number of PED scenarios and observe citizens’ responses in an immersive, informative and deeply engaged lab environment. It enables the experimental subject to explore different built scenarios, give different behaviours, and perceive the physical feedback, simultaneously. The IHBI lab is supported by Swedish Energy Agency, Formas, EU Horizon project, and Umeå University. Our research team are looking for partners to cooperate with in the PED research proposal and research! The IHBI team can participate in your PED proposal, and especially contribute to the research of citizen involvement in the PED context. Looking forward to your contact,
