Associate Professor at Dalarna University

About
We are developing a proposal idea for the DUT2026 15-minute City topic on neighbourhood economies and local everyday offers.
The project will explore how cities can strengthen local access to everyday goods and services in a context of changing retail patterns, digitalisation, evolving mobility behaviour and new expectations for more sustainable urban living.
We are interested in how municipalities and local stakeholders can support resilient neighbourhood centres, inclusive everyday services, sustainable access, and stronger links between local commerce, mobility, digital tools and community needs.
We are looking for potential partners from municipalities, universities, research institutes, mobility and logistics actors, local economy organisations, property or retail stakeholders, and civil-society organisations.
Potential partner contributions could include:
-
a local case study or living lab;
-
expertise in urban planning, mobility, local economy, retail, logistics, digitalisation or social innovation;
-
access to municipal or regional stakeholders;
-
experience with neighbourhood regeneration, local service provision or sustainable mobility;
-
interest in co-creating practical policy and implementation tools for cities.
We are particularly interested in connecting with partners from Sweden, Iceland, Spain, Italy and other DUT-eligible countries.
Please contact us on xzh@du.se if your organisation is interested in discussing possible collaboration.
