Park&Charge Hubs: Transforming Existing Parking Infrastructure into Multifunctional Urban Mobility and Service Spaces

Project Manager at OneStop City Services GmbH

Warsaw, Poland

About

Many European cities face the challenge of adapting existing urban infrastructure to support climate neutrality, sustainable mobility and the 15-minute city concept. Large areas dedicated to parking often remain underutilised and represent an opportunity for innovative urban transformation.

This project aims to develop, test and evaluate models for the adaptive reuse of existing parking infrastructure as multifunctional neighbourhood hubs. The concept combines mobility services, EV charging, micromobility, urban logistics, digital city services and community-oriented functions within existing urban structures.

The project will investigate how parking facilities can evolve from single-purpose assets into flexible urban spaces that improve accessibility, reduce car dependency, support local services and contribute to neighbourhood resilience. Particular attention will be given to governance models, citizen engagement, business viability, spatial planning and integration with local mobility ecosystems.

Pilot implementations in different European cities would allow testing of innovative solutions in diverse urban contexts and provide evidence-based recommendations for municipalities and urban planners.

We are seeking cities, research organisations, universities, mobility providers, urban planners, technology companies and public authorities interested in co-developing and piloting new approaches to adaptive reuse of urban infrastructure within the framework of the DUT Call 2026.
