Active mobility, heritage regeneration and tourism in the 15-Minute City

Associate Professor at Universidad de Sevilla

Seville, Spain

About

We offer advanced expertise in spatial analysis, universal accessibility for people with reduced mobility (PRM), active mobility, and managing the socio-spatial impacts of tourism and regeneration in dense, historic urban districts. We look to contribute to real-world living labs and implementation-oriented urban pilots. We are fully equipped to significantly contribute to work packages focusing on:

  1. Spatial and accessibility diagnostics: GIS mapping, urban morphology analysis, and universal accessibility to identify physical and socio-spatial barriers to active mobility.

  2. Socio-spatial impact assessment: monitoring and evaluating how pedestrianization, tactical urbanism, and proximity-based interventions alter local commercial fabrics and community demographics.

  3. Heritage-led circularity: designing adaptive reuse strategies for built heritage that support localized, circular urban economies and prevent the touristification of historic centers.

  4. Co-creation and citizen science: facilitating participatory workshops and using mixed-methods (combining quantitative spatial data with qualitative resident feedback) to ensure co-designed urban interventions reflect community needs.
