About

To build a future where housing and urban living is a form of social justice, promoting diversity and balanced resource management, SoHab work mainly in two areas: the development of decent and affordable housing and the development of community and citizen dynamics.

We are nearly fifty professionals bringing together expertise in socio-economics and cultural development, architecture, urban planning, and real estate.

 Our focus areas are :

  • Neigbourhood Development : Setting up and supporting local social assistance, community education, socio-economic revitalisation and urban planning

  • Participatory living - COLISO² : Creating and managing Social & Solidarity Co-Living residences (COLISO²) aimed at empowering residents to take ownership of building use, fostering residential communities, and supporting neighbourhood dynamics

  • Social and Solidarity Real-Estate Agency : Promoting social and fair rent in the private market: Combatting real estate speculation through rental management, property scouting, and brokerage services

  • Renovation and Building Use : Administrative and technical support for owners and tenants in terms of safety, sanitation, comfort, and energy performance

  • International Solidarity : Global & Solidarity Citizenship Education. Cooperating for the development of decent housing worldwide. Participating in international networks

We can bring the following areas of expertise:

  • Stakeholder engagement : We engage local actors (residents, organisations, and institutions) to co-design and sustain inclusive housing and socio-cultural initiatives, reinforcing governance and collective responsibility.

  • Information and Dissemination : We develop tools, trainings, and publications to build practical knowledge in sustainable housing, energy efficiency, community development, and civic engagement — grounded in field experience.

  • Multidisciplinary Project Management : We coordinate diverse social and urban development projects by integrating technical, social, and administrative expertise.

  • Methodolody Development : We design and test innovative methodologies to tackle housing and social challenges.

These approaches are rooted in real-life experimentation and aim to be replicable.

Additionally, we can offer field case studies in the five Brussels neighborhoods where we are active.
