About the Union of Metropolitan Cities and Agglomerations

• We are a dynamic platform that brings together major cities, metropolitan areas, and agglomerations (13 together) facing the most significant challenges of our time. Our mission is to support cooperation among cities - urban leaders who are determined to deliver practical and ambitious solutions for sustainable, resilient, and high-quality urban living.

What We Do:

• We connect major cities that are dealing with complex issues such as climate change, urban mobility, energy transformation, and social inclusion.

• We promote integrated solutions across key sectors like transport, energy, spatial planning, and digitalization to ensure cities develop in a balanced and efficient way.

• We facilitate knowledge sharing between member cities, including best practices, successful project models, lessons learned, and direct cooperation between municipal officials and experts.

• We support twinning, peer learning, and capacity building to help cities accelerate their progress through real-life examples and practical collaborations.

• We advocate for the needs of metropolitan areas at the national and international levels, ensuring that large cities have a strong voice in shaping policies, funding opportunities, and legislative frameworks.

• We create space for innovative projects that aim to deliver long-term benefits for urban residents, focusing on climate neutrality, liveability, and smart solutions.
