Dalarna University has over 40 years of experience in energy research with origins dating back to 1984. Dalarna University has evolved from a focus solely on solar energy to the optimization of entire energy systems—from individual technologies to city-wide solutions. The group is organized around three key areas: (1) energy systems and technologies, with a strong focus on photovoltaics and storage, (2) built environment, with a strong focus on energy efficiency, life-cycle analysis (LCA), and circular economy, and (3) large-scale energy systems, with a strong focus on energy flexibility, energy communities and PEDs.
