About me

Büşra is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, Spatial Applications Division Leuven – SADL. She currently works under UPPER – Unleashing the Potential of Public Transport in Europe – Horizon Europe project with a special emphasis on the Serious Games research method and its outputs, modal share calculation methods, and transition pathways of UPPER cities’ measures related to the Theory of Change. Besides, she was a part of the team submitting a Driving Urban Transition (DUT) Call on the 15-minute City Pathway focusing on empowering people for urban mobility transitions as well as cycling policies assessment in the city of Leuven. Büşra’s expertise also involves working as a teaching assistant at Middle East Technical University, City and Regional Planning Department, and as a consultant/sectoral expert in the project management team for Green City Action Plans (GCAP) of Ankara, İstanbul and Kocaeli, Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan for Ankara, UN-Habitat-FCDO Global Future Cities Programme Project of “Increasing Quality and Accessibility of Streets in Çankaya Neighborhoods in Ankara, Turkey”. She also has academic research experiences on urban regeneration during her Master’s and on spatial dynamics of creative industries during her PhD. She is open to new research horizons and collaborations.
