About me
Saša Zelenika is a tenured full professor and Head of the Precision Engineering Laboratory at the University of Rijeka (UNIRI), Faculty of Engineering (RITEH) and Member of the Croatian Academy of Technical Sciences. He was Assistant Minister for Science and Deputy Minister at the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sports (2012-2014). He was also UNIRI’s Vice-Rector for Strategic Projects (2021-2025) where he has fostered UNIRI’s activities related to open science and AI policies, has led the activities on the reform of research(er) assessment and was in charge of innovation and knowledge valorization activities. He has authored more than 225 scientific and professional publications, 2 textbooks, a patent, 63 scientific broadening newspaper articles, 129 broadening talks and 18 scientific broadening radio shows, and actively participates(ed) in 11 EU FP projects. His research interests are in precision engineering, microsystems technologies, energy harvesting and mechatronics.
