About me

Laryssa Tarachucky is a Brazilian designer, researcher, and innovation strategist whose work lies at the intersection of participatory design, public policy, and community-based innovation. With over a decade of experience, she has developed and implemented methodologies and tools that foster citizen engagement, collaborative urban transformation, and sustainable development.

She is the scientific director of Instituto Cocidades, a transdisciplinary organization dedicated to promoting civic infrastructures and participatory urban innovation in Latin America. She is also the Lead Researcher at Urban IxD, a company specializing in urban planning and participatory design, where she develops community-centered strategies, inclusive planning tools, and public innovation frameworks.

Laryssa coordinated LabIC Novale, a citizen innovation lab linked to the Novale Hub – Center for Innovation of Jaraguá do Sul – where she leads initiatives that activate local ecosystems, integrate digital technologies into participatory processes, and support inclusive planning practices. Her portfolio includes the creation of the LabIC Pela Cidade method, the PIC LabIC incubation program, and the digital platform for the orchestration of community innovation labs.

She holds a Master’s in Design and a PhD in Knowledge Management and Engineering under the topic of Urban Interaction Design. She was the regional coordinator for Southern Brazil in the UNESCO/UNEVOC I-Hubs Project and has collaborated with institutions such as IFSC, FAPESC, UFSC, WEG S.A., and multiple city governments across Santa Catarina and other Brazilian states.

Her current research and practice focus on metadesign, living labs, civic infrastructures, territorial innovation, circularity, and tools to democratize access to public innovation systems.
