What if there is Uber for human wastes and liquid sewerage (GoWasteOS)?
About
GoWasteOS, is an android based liquid waste e – hailing software app that is intended to aggregate and manage service providers. This project is therefore meant to serve as an innovative intervention program using modern technology by developing an application system to help in aggregating liquid waste service providers, and users for liquid waste evacuation. This Project aims at liquid waste management in the urban cities of Nigeria. Some of the environment pollution that is characterized in urban cities are, to a great extent, attributed to inappropriate liquid waste management, lack of or inappropriate wastewater treatment, draining of black and grey waters directly into the ground and/or nearby streams, rapid, uncontrolled and under-regulated urban planning which has generated undesired pressure on the land area, human and natural resources. This call for concerns, and the need for investment in effective waste management, and community education regarding waste management. A considerable number of residential and business premises in these urban towns and cities have problems evacuating their liquid wastes. Greater parts of the urban population are not aware of the damage this is causing to the environment, and to their health. It is also a negative environmental factor that could contribute to climate change. This is apart from the potential opportunities of income generation that this particular challenge could also bring. Lack of education and awareness of how anthropogenic activities are harming the environment and causing climate change closes this pollution cycle. I presented this idea in a TEDx Event:
