Multi Agent System Technology

About

My research group has deep expertise in designing and implementing intelligent multi-agent systems, exemplified by our development of DALI, an agent-oriented logic programming language .  DALI is implemented as a SICStus-Prolog–based meta-interpreter that explicitly supports reactive (event-driven) and proactive (goal-driven) behaviors.  Agents handle multiple event types—external, present, internal, and past—via dedicated syntax: external events trigger reactive rules and are recorded as past events , while internal events enable agents to initiate and pursue their own goals .  The DALI framework also provides a FIPA-compliant communication layer with customizable filters and external ontology access, and it integrates Answer-Set Programming modules for complex reasoning (e.g. planning, preference handling) .  DALI has been applied in diverse domains, from cognitive robotics to industrial automation.  For example, it has coordinated delivery robots in a store environment and been used in a multi-agent fault-detection system .  These achievements are documented in numerous peer-reviewed publications and open-source software releases , highlighting our group’s MAS architecture and implementation expertise.
